General Information, Gates, and Access at San Juan Airport Terminal A
Terminal A at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is located on the southern side of the airport and is primarily used by JetBlue Airways, which operates the majority of flights from this concourse. Several other carriers also base flights here, offering a mix of domestic connections and international routes to the Caribbean and beyond.
Terminal A at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport features gates A1–A8 and primarily serves:

Gates & Layout
Terminal A features gates A1-A8, all beginning with the letter A, located on the upper (departures) level, with baggage claim and arrivals on the lower level:
- Gates A1-A5 - Handle the majority of JetBlue's domestic and international departures.
- Gates A6-A8 - Serve additional JetBlue flights along with Air Canada, Avelo, and regional carrier departures.
Note: Gate assignments at SJU are subject to change based on flight schedules. Always confirm your gate at the departure information screens or with your airline.

Immigration & Customs
- Domestic Arrivals (from the U.S. mainland): No passport or customs declaration required — treated the same as any domestic U.S. flight.
- International Arrivals: Standard U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) screening applies for flights arriving from outside the United States.
- All international passengers must carry a valid passport, along with an approved ESTA or U.S. visa if applicable.
- Departing passengers headed to the U.S. mainland pass through a routine USDA agricultural inspection.
Access & Connectivity
- Terminal A is connected to Terminal B outside the secure area near the ticketing desks; no shuttle required.
- Beyond security, all four concourses (A, B, C, and D) are linked by covered walkways, with a maximum walking time of about 15 minutes between gates.
- Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, no password required.
- Charging stations: Power outlets and USB charging points near gate areas.
- Parking: To reach the parking garage from Terminal A, passengers should walk to Terminal B.
